Boynton Award

Boynton Baseball Research Award – Initiated in 2002, this award is given to recognize baseball research conducted by a San Diego County high school student.  The 2004 award was given to Nathan Hicks (Ramona High School), whose paper was titled “Ted Williams, the Last .400 Hitter...Ever?” (view HTML, view PDF)

The panel of five judges included representatives from our Chapter, the San Diego Padres, San Diego County Schools, the San Diego Public Library, as well as our President Emeritus and the man for whom the award is named, Bob Boynton.
